| This cabinet is my latest effort towards a contemporary regional style. While it grows out of the last 100 years of desert wood working, it is without doubt a 21st century piece of furniture of the American West. The work is executed directly with hand planes, chisels, and other edged hand tools. Koa wood is vibrant and excels at refracting light. There are many layers of visual information here, revealing themselves as the light changes through time. Koa is an exotic rare wood. | |
