Madrone Tree.  Door package with sidelights and transom.

Carved door awaiting finish. This unit was built in Alaskan Yellow cedar to accommodate the damp environment of the Pacific Northwest.

 

The Madrone tree is a native tree along the Pacific Coast and is known for its distinctive rich orange-red bark.

 

This is the working drawing for the door.

 

This door has a curved top to fit in the large curved glass surround.


 The image is drawn on the wooden panel before carving begins.

 12 foot transom and sidelights assembled on shop floor.
